Overview

Aethon Systems ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website aethonsystems.io. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data. We are committed to handling your information transparently and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

What Data We Collect

Analytics Data (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our website. This service may collect the following data when you accept analytics cookies:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring website or search engine
  • Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
  • Approximate geographic location (country and city level — no precise location)
  • Anonymised IP address

  • This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and may be stored on servers in the United States. Google's data processing is governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

    Contact and Booking Data

If you book a strategy call via our scheduling tool (Cal.com), Cal.com collects your name, email address, and any information you provide in the booking form. This data is processed by Cal.com under their own Privacy Policy and is used solely to schedule and confirm your appointment. We receive a copy of your booking details to prepare for the call.

    Data You Voluntarily Provide

If you contact us directly by email or through any contact form, we collect the information you choose to share (such as your name, email, and message). This information is used only to respond to your enquiry.

    Cookies

    What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies only for analytics purposes — specifically to enable Google Analytics to distinguish between unique visitors and sessions.

    Cookie Consent

When you first visit our website, a consent banner is displayed. Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept." If you click "Decline," no analytics cookies are placed and Google Analytics does not track your visit. Your preference is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key "aethon_cookie_consent" and will be remembered for future visits.

    Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can change your cookie preference at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in the footer of any page. You can also delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that clearing localStorage will reset your consent preference and the banner will reappear on your next visit.

    Third-Party Cookies

Google Analytics may set its own cookies (e.g., _ga, _gid) on your device when analytics are accepted. These cookies are governed by Google's Cookie Policy. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any cookies that track you across third-party websites.

    California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

  • Right to Know — You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale — We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is required, but you may contact us to confirm this.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

  • To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].

    Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Booking and contact enquiry data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, and is deleted upon request.

    International Data Transfers

Google Analytics data may be transferred to and stored in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and implements Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure an adequate level of data protection for transfers from the European Economic Area.

    Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the following rights:

  • Right of Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to Restrict Processing — Request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to Data Portability — Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object — Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent — Withdraw analytics consent at any time via the cookie banner or by contacting us.

  • To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

    Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
